The Charlotte Fall Challenge was a huge success thanks to the efforts of over 70 volunteers, including tournament staff Jeff Beard, Dori Cazorla and Bob Bowler. The weather was spectacular, and the athletes enjoyed at tournament atmosphere that included T-shirts, lunch, snacks, and friendly competition. The afternoon ended with a round of "Unified Doubles" pairing athletes with volunteers as doubles partners.
The tournament was very rewarding to all involved and included heartwarming side stories… The Cannon School Girls JV Tennis Team not only volunteered their entire day with the Athletes, but also raised the money to pay for all the trophies. The ATANC, (Adaptive Tennis Association of North Carolina), challenged four CTA’s throughout the state to hold tournaments for Athletes with special needs. The Charlotte CTA was excited to take on the challenge and make it a success.
