CHARLOTTE TEAMS DOMINATE USTA MIXED DOUBLES STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS!

Nine of the twelve Charlotte Metro teams participating in the USTA Mixed Doubles teams advanced to the semifinals. Six teams emerged victorious and will advance to represent North Carolina at the Sectional Championships. NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS BOUND

We are excited to announce that Kim Diaz and Rosalyn Kartes’ 40 & Over 4.0 team will be representing Charlotte Metro at the USTA Adult League National Championships. The team finished their round robin with a 4-0 record and went on to win the final match against Mississippi taking home the Section title! They will be competing at the National Championship Oct. 27-29 in San Diego, CA. Read More
 

JUNIOR TEAM TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Junior Team Tennis State Championships event was held in Greenville July 14-16. Thirteen teams representing six area facilities traveled from Charlotte to compete in nine play divisions. Congratulations to the five teams that claimed Championship titles (click on read more) and shout out to Sportsmanship winners - Ballantyne CC Coach Melissa Skovira and 18U Beginner player Keaton McKinstry. THREE TEAMS CLAIM USTA ADULT LEAGUE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLES

USTA ADULT LEAGUE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP HELD IN CHARLOTTE

Charlotte welcomed over 900 players on 86 teams to compete in the 40 & Over USTA Adult League State Championships June 22-25. Matches were scheduled on over 76 courts across 11 area tennis facilities. Congratulations to all the teams that won their divisions to advance to the Sectional Championships! USTA LEAGUE TENNIS HEATS UP THE SUMMER

The Summer USTA Mixed Doubles, USTA NC Singles and Charlotte USTA FLEX Leagues are underway. Combined leagues consist of 341 teams representing over 2,500 players from the Charlotte area. Summer tennis will feature some hot competition culminating in playoff matches for the Mixed Doubles and Singles Leagues and advancement to the USTA NC State Championships. Read More
 

FOUR TEAMS ADVANCE TO USTA LEAGUE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS WITH ONE WINNER BEING CROWNED

Congratulations to Karen Foster’s 55 & Over 3.5 team for winning National Championships! The Charlotte Metro team defeated Missouri Valley in the finals taking all three lines, winning two in 3rd set tiebreaks! Congratulations also go out to Wendy Parker’s 18 & Over 4.5 team, Jonathan Edwards’ 18 & Over 5.0 team, and Debbie Carmazzi’s 65 & Over 4.0 team for their outstanding performances at Nationals! 2023 USTA ADULT LEAGUE SEASON ABOUT TO KICK-OFF

The USTA Adult League season kicks-off next week with another record setting number of teams and registrations. Close to 5,500 participants are playing on 417 teams, an increase of 32 teams over last year! Team competition will run through late May, and culminate with playoff events to advance teams to the State Championships. Registration for Summer USTA Leagues will open April 1. Read More
 

TENNIS ON TAP AWARD WINING PROGRAM

The Charlotte Tennis Association is proud to announce that USTA North Carolina recognized our Tennis On Tap (TOT) program as the "Outstanding Team Tennis Event/Program of the Year" during their Annual Meeting in Pinehurst last weekend. Specifically, USTA NC recognized TOT Ambassadors/Coordinators Megan Hunter and Alex Udell for all their efforts to provide social play for over 500 young adults across four sessions in 2022. FLEX LEAGUE WINTER SEASON WINDING DOWN

Almost 600 players have been braving the colder conditions to play in the Charlotte winter season USTA FLEX League. These players have had a lot of match play over the last several weeks and are prepared for the start of the USTA Adult League season. The next FLEX League will run over the summer and will include men’s and women’s singles and doubles play. Read More
