CHARLOTTE METRO USTA ADULT LEAGUE TEAMS TAKE STATE TITLES

Congratulations to the Charlotte Metro USTA Adult League State Champions! 28 teams representing Charlotte Metro advanced to compete at the 18, 40 and 55 & Over USTA North Carolina State Championships and five teams emerged as Champions. The 65 & Over state championships will be held October 15-17. Teams will go on to compete at Sectional Championships to be held in July, August and September. JUNIOR TEAM TENNIS TEAMS COMPETING IN WILMINGTON

With the season officially closed, final standings for 2021 Spring Junior Team Tennis have been determined and winning teams announced. A total of 11 first/second place teams representing 8 play divisions - from 10U Beginner to 18U Intermediate, will advance to participate in the USTA Junior Team Tennis State Championships event being held in Wilmington July 16-18. RECORD NUMBER OF REGISTRATIONS FOR CHARLOTTE PRO LEAGUE

The 2021 Charlotte Pro League kicked off this week with the player Draft on Sunday, followed by the Draft reveal on Monday. Both events were held at the site of our Presenting Sponsor, Town Brewing Co. With the highest number of registrations in the seventeen year history of the Pro League, 148 players were drafted to 8 men's teams and 4 women's teams. TENNIS ON TAP FOR PLAYERS AGE 21 TO 30

The Charlotte Tennis Association is serving up a new program for players age 21 to 30iish. This program is all about having fun, making new friends and improving your tennis game while you're at it! The early summer session of "Tennis on Tap" is underway at Alexander Street Park on Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. THERE’S A PLACE FOR YOU AND YOUR GAME THIS SUMMER

Charlotte's summer USTA Leagues are just getting started with our traditional Mixed Doubles and Singles programs; and doubles play through the Charlotte USTA FLEX League. Players representing 4 public and 36 private facilities in the community are participating on 80 Mixed Doubles teams, 111 Singles teams and 98 FLEX League teams. Match play will run through mid-August culminating in local championship events for USTA Mixed Doubles and USTA NC Singles for advancement to the State Championships. Read More

The Charlotte Tennis Association is serving up a new program for players age 21 to 30iish. This program is all about having fun, making new friends and improving your tennis game while you're at it! The spring session of "Tennis on Tap" begins Thursday, March 25 at 6:00 PM and will run for six consecutive weeks at Veterans Park. JUNIOR TEAMS ARE BACK IN ACTION

Players age 6 to 18 are occupying the tennis courts at numerous facilities in Charlotte on Sunday afternoons. The Junior Team Tennis spring season kicked off this week with over 600 kids playing on 75 teams across eight divisions based on age and skill level. A big shout out to the coaches for their time and efforts to organize and manage teams and provide this fun team play opportunity. Read More
 

2021 USTA ADULT LEAGUE IS BACK AND GOING STRONG

It’s been one year since the league season abruptly stopped play due to the Covid Pandemic. Although still slightly affected, league play is going strong with over 4,500 registrations across 350 teams representing 39 Charlotte area tennis facilities! Team competition will run through late May, and culminate with local championship events to advance teams to the NC State Championships. Registration for Summer USTA Leagues will open April 1. RUN FOR RACQUETS; A VIRTUAL 5K WITH COMMUNITY IMPACT

The Charlotte Tennis Association (CTA) Board of Directors is inviting all tennis enthusiasts to join us in participating in an event sponsored by the Southern Tennis Foundation (STF) - Run for Racquets, a virtual 5K with community impact. For every 5K registration, STF will donate a tennis racquet to the CTA and the CTA Board has agreed to match STF donations up to 100 racquets.
