USTA ANNOUNCES EXTENSION ON SUSPENSION OF EVENTS

As an update to our announcements on March 11 and 12, USTA Sanctioned events and programs are now be suspended until May 3. This suspension applies to all USTA sanctioned programs and events, including USTA Adult League, USTA Junior Team Tennis and USTA Adult and Junior Tournaments. USTA SUSPENDS EVENTS

This announcement serves as an update to our communication regarding the USTA Adult League which will now be suspended until April 20th. This also applies to all USTA sanctioned products and events and therefore includes suspension of the upcoming Junior Team Tennis season that was originally scheduled to begin March 22. USTA ADULT LEAGUE OFF TO A WET, RAINY START

In spite of a very wet and rainy start, the Adult League season has kicked off with a record number of over 5,000 participants playing on 392 teams representing 42 Charlotte area tennis facilities! Team competition will run through late May, and culminate with championship events to advance teams to the State Championships. Registration for USTA Mixed Doubles and USTA NC Singles leagues will open April 1. Read More
 

2020 USTA LEAGUE CAPTAINS MEETINGS AND SPECIAL RECOGNITIONS

The CTA recently hosted two USTA League Captains Meetings where we showed our appreciation for individuals captaining teams this spring. We also recognized several 2019 team captains. Congratulations to Donna Mitchell who was selected as our Outstanding USTA League Captain of the Year! Thanks also to Jason Michael who captained 14 teams, Troy Young who captained 9 teams and Heather Phelps, Brad Smith, Katie Cronin, Mark Knowles, Misty Jones and Teresa Geyling, who each captained 6 teams. CHARLOTTE USTA LEAGUE OUTSTANDING FACILITY

At our recent USTA Adult League Captain's Meetings the Charlotte Tennis Association recognized Providence Plantation Racquet and Swim Club as the 2019 Outstanding USTA League Facility of the Year. In 2019 PPRSC hosted 13 teams across all four local USTA League programs, which was almost double over 2018. Looking back over the last 5 years they have increased almost 300%! TENNIS, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE LOVE

Register now for the 2020 Winter/Spring USTA Adult League. Women's and men's teams are forming across all age groups and NTRP levels to play singles/doubles. If you are interested in joining the fun, click on the USTA League Tennis menu option to the left for details, including formats, days of play, and registration information. FOUR TEAMS EMERGE AS SOUTHERN COMBO DOUBLES LEAGUE STATE CHAMPIONS

Congratulations to all the teams that won their local divisions to advance to the 2019 USTA Southern Combo Doubles League State Championships. The Charlotte Tennis Association was proud to send 31 teams to compete. Four teams claimed championship titles and moved on to compete in the USTA Southern Sectional Championships that were held this past weekend in Mobile, AL. Read More
 

CTA BOARD OF DIRECTORS, PROGRAM COORDINATORS IN ACTION

Prior to their meeting held at Queens Sports Complex at Marion Diehl, Charlotte Tennis Association Board of Directors, staff and contractors had fun demonstrating their skills playing on the 36" courts using the red low compression balls and short racquets. FIVE USTA SINGLES LEAGUE TEAMS EMERGE AS CHAMPIONS

Seventeen teams from the Charlotte Metro USTA Singles League participated in the State Championships held in Goldsboro. CHARLOTTE TEAM CROWNED USTA MIXED DOUBLES LEAGUE STATE CHAMPION

Congratulations to Kurt Bombien’s 40 & Over 7.0 USTA Mixed Doubles League team for their successful run at the USTA NC State Championships last weekend. As State Champions, they will go on to represent North Carolina at the Southern Sectional Championships being held in Little Rock, AR October 11-14.​ Read More
