TOURNAMENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

January 27, 2010 07:49 PM

Because of the size and scope of the MidCourt Cup Tournament, the CTA is looking for volunteers to work in a variety of areas. We are looking for organized, friendly people to make this tournament a success.  So that no one volunteer is over-committed, we have devised a system of shifts, each with an hour overlap of volunteers. Volunteers, who have not worked one of our tournaments before, will overlap or be paired with an experienced volunteer to familiarize them with the process.

Tournament Registration at Headquarters Site (Jeff Adams Tennis Center):  Check in players on Friday evening and Saturday; record player contact information and distribute player gift bags and t-shirts.

Match Check-In (Jeff Adams Tennis Center, Park Road Park, South Mecklenburg High School, Waddell High School): Check in players for their matches, assign open courts to players, record match scores, maintain site supplies and generally assist site referees and officials to ensure a well run event.

Runners: Maintain periodic contact to ensure that an event location has adequate supplies, including water, ice, tennis balls, fruit, snacks, and meals.  This would require perhaps 2/3 contacts by phone that may or may not result in a delivery during the day.  Runners would not be required to be onsite except to make deliveries.

Site Setup: (Park Road Park, South Mecklenburg High School, Waddell High School) Early morning shift on Saturday  and Sunday to set up tables, chairs, supplies at one of the auxiliary sites. Breakdown on Saturday and Sunday evening.

If you are interested in volunteering in any of these capacities,  Click here to submit an online request.
