Charlotte Tennis Association - Board of Directors Positions
The Charlotte Tennis Association (“CTA") is a non-profit organization founded in 1991, whose mission is to promote and develop the growth of tennis in the community. The CTA is the designated provider of USTA programs in the region and boasts the largest number of unique USTA Adult League and Junior Team Tennis players in North Carolina. Under the direction of the Executive Director, staff carries out the daily operations. Policy is formed and much of the organization's efforts are carried out via the Board of Directors, committees and dedicated volunteers.
Our vision is to provide access to a full range of tennis programs and activities, available to people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds throughout the region and to create opportunities to enjoy the social, physical, and health benefits provided by the sport of tennis.
Our organization provides programming and promotes growth of the sport across a wide array of activities in the community including:
- USTA Adult Leagues
- USTA Junior Team Tennis
- Charlotte Pro League
- Community advocacy for enhancements to public park facilities and programming in the parks
- Outreach programming to populations that might not otherwise have access to the sport
- Introducing and growing programming in local schools
- Support for special needs programs including Special Olympics and Wheelchair Tennis
- Hosting and supporting tournaments and events in the community
The Charlotte Tennis Association is seeking applications to fill board positions to serve a three year term. The organization is looking for individuals to assist in the areas of adult and junior programming, marketing and communications, community outreach and engagement, fundraising and grants, programming for local schools, and tournaments and events.
